What are Vertical and Horizontal Laminar Flow Hoods?
Laminar flow hoods or clean benches offer filtered airflow across the work area, protecting the sample from contamination. Laminar Flow hoods are ideal for a range of applications that demand clean air and a sterile environment, such as numerous medical and research laboratories, sterile equipment assembly, and electronic device assembly.
The majority of laminar flow hoods come with either horizontal or vertical airflow. Clean filtered air travels downward from the filter surface on top to the work surface in vertical flow hoods. Clean air travels from a filter behind the work surface toward the operator in horizontal laminar flow cabinets. The kind of procedure, operator safety, and clearance requirements all influence airflow direction.
Applications
Personnel protection is not provided by laminar flow hoods or clean benches, as it is by biosafety cabinets. In the presence of harmful substances, they are ineffective. A biological safety cabinet should be utilized if your application concerns biohazards.
Multi-zone Assisted Reproductive Treatment Workstations are primarily used for Animal In Vitro Fertilization and Sample Handling and are generally suited for non-hazardous applications requiring a clean work environment. Positive-pressure, ISO 5 air is provided throughout the chamber and sash opening, keeping airborne particulates away from sensitive applications.
Multi-Zone heating system
Excellent uniformity is achieved thanks to ten distinct zones with their own heating elements and sensors. The heating system will prioritize power distribution automatically to provide accurate temperature regulation and quick recovery. The temperature regulation of MIRI® chambers is always on in models with MIRI® chambers, independent of mode.
- Multiple independent heating zones, each with its own heating elements and sensors, with no crossover heating across zones.
- The heated glass stage has its own independent heating zone further to enhance the temperature control and recovery in this zone.


Choice of 4 temperature modes
You can turn on all zones, turn off the right zones, turn off the right and middle zones or all zones are turned off.
Microscope integration provision
- Provision to integrate the most popular stereoscopic and inverted microscopes.
- The work chamber's integrated stereoscope allows users to keep culture dishes at a constant temperature while observing and manipulating them. Accidents will be less likely with fewer movements.


Humidification system
The design does not actively control the humidification level in the system to reach certain humidity levels (despite the gas humidification is a continuous process). For models without MIRI® chambers, the gas outlet port is located on the table surface and using a plastic cover, a “semi-closed” environment can be created.

Energy Efficiency Chart
ECM blowers are used in Esco Assisted Reproductive Technology Workstations, enabling minimal cabinet power consumption without sacrificing cabinet performance. It also has a standby mode that helps to save energy while the cabinet is not in use.
Touchscreen monitor
Fully functional Windows PC with a touch screen provides real-time information on all work area parameters e.g. zone temperature performance, gas pressure, and flow rate. Here are the touchscreen monitor’s full and detailed specs:
- Displays the temperature of the heated surface, as well as the gas flow and pressure.
- Reports of these parameters can be generated.
- Observe and record culture behavior in real-time via microscope camera function.
- Enable teleconference calls with colleagues in other sites for real-time collaborative work.
- Note: Webcam is not supplied.


Isocide Powder Coat
It's a silver-ion impregnated powder coat that improves safety by inhibiting microbiological development.
Stainless Steel Tabletop
- Stainless steel is the primary material utilized in the tabletop surface. While aluminum is employed to cover the tabletop's bottom.
Superior Air Cleanliness
Esco cabinets deliver ISO Class 3 air cleanliness within the work zone, which is much cleaner than the competition's Class 4 designation.


Less Noise, Less Vibration
The Esco Multi-Zone ART Workstation offers cutting-edge design and features that result in extremely low noise and vibration levels, making it ideal for sensitive microscopic work. It has a smaller, high-efficiency ECM blower that creates less noise and vibrations, as well as a passive damper that runs the length of the link, dampening the cabinet frame with table plate vibrations.
Cable Pass-Through Channels
The Esco Multi-Zone ART workstation has a convenient way for electrical cables of other equipment and/or accessories (i.e., a camera) to pass through its back wall. This provides a cleaner and more organized interior that should help improve your IVF workflow.
